so, i was just checkin' out one of my co-workers blogs and saw this real incredible Saul Williams piece that I would like to share with you;

i fear your freedom

thus, i must fear my own

you are a changing woman

i recognize you

and am trying to free you

of me

it is your freedom

that i love

i have not yet

learned to love

without holding on
* i feel like this piece describes the way i feel when i enter a relationship. im afraid to free myself and focus in on that small microcosm, on the other hand i hold on too much to them being free i now become confined.if you feel the same, comment plz!!!

and its okay to believe that, poetry is like rehab only thing life is the drug that you cant escape. poetry saved me literally. maybe it can save u 2

2.poetry dosent make ppl lifeless
3.joell ortiz, mos def, lupe, and many other artist

check this young woman out

A free spirited young aspring artist with an "old soul" along w/ the "penetrating voice of a revolutionary",
Brooklyn raised Polichiq aka SweeTruth is a spell binding poetess who speaks from the soul. Her work has been called "equitable and warm"; thus making her poetry lyrical and almost always leaving those listening begging or more.

heres a new piece by her;

What a nightmare it is to be lonesome
to be fearful of greatness, b/c its unfamiliar
execpt in words.
Rods fish for more than passion,
Less are they to me, bait bats lashes full of the bull
u nd i both know well
That christmas man w/ rosey cheeks
People be shoutin in the streets,
NOEL.
Faith is lost in certain places,
onl b/c many refused to dig
surface tells diffferent stories
you all buy quick onli 2 return when u see
its just a trick.
Minds boggled feelin cheated,
no words were spoken but those eyes of yours
bought wat u cud see physically in token.
Now tears warmed by sad mothers
fall out their sockets.
Since when did u not care to harness them deep like ur pockets,
was that love gone wrong truly your catalyst
or that of my walls buried too deep within these bong hits??

we hold freedom within our voices!

Ive always written poetry, but i never understood the power my words held until I met one brother who did. he exasperated freedom within his words, voice, and body. he may not kno that he has inspired me and im okay with that. I want the world to feel what he feels. i was just searching on a friends blog, and found this video of him that i would like to share with you. listen to the words carefully please!!!
